Rwanda Law Reform Commission Hosts University of Rwanda Students for a Study Visit
20th March 2025- The Rwanda Law Reform Commission (RLRC) welcomed students from the National Police College, who are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Translation & Interpreting and Linguistics & Literature, for a study visit.
The students had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Commission's structure and its crucial role in the legislative process, particularly in legislative drafting and translation.
The visit began with a warm welcome from RLRC’s Secretary General, Mbabazi Judith, who delivered introductory remarks highlighting the Rwanda Law Reform Commission’s role in the country's law-making process. This was followed by a detailed briefing from Aguma Charles Kalimba, the Legislative Translation Team Leader, who elaborated on the Commission's functions and its vital role in enhancing legal clarity and accessibility within Rwanda’s legislative framework.
During the session, students engaged in an interactive discussion, posing insightful questions to satisfy their curiosity about the RLRC’s work. The Commission’s senior staff provided detailed and satisfactory explanations, further enriching the students' understanding of the legislative process.
The study visit concluded with a memorable group photo, capturing the moment of knowledge exchange and collaboration. The delegation comprised 28 students, all of whom expressed their appreciation for the informative session and the valuable insights gained.
